For inquiry we are making paper mâché army hats for the 1910's inquiry group.
This is what they looked like before we made them into hats.
We blew up a balloon and tied it off at the end, and then we put paper mâché on the balloon and then popped the balloon and added more layers. This is what they looked like when we turned them into hats.
Our teacher cut the rim of the hat out with his jigsaw and he cut the paper mâché egg shape in half so we could have two hats. He then stapled the rim of the hat and the egg shape together and we put paper mâché over and around it to keep it firm and sturdy.
